Santa's Reindeer
I caught Santa's Reindeer on their up to the North Pole. They were in quite a hurry! Hope everyone has a happy holidays! Thanks for all your support this year.
Arctic Caribou
I took this caribou shot on Alaska's North Slope just off the Dalton Highway. By watching the movement of the herds, I was able to position myself where they came to cross the highway. Visit our website at www.ActionPhotoTours.com to learn about our 2016 polar bears and arctic wildlife tours!
Ptarmigan in Camo
The Willow Ptarmigan is the state bird of Alaska. During fall, it undergoes a color change from brown to full winter white. This bird is about half changed over to its winter color. I love how camouflaged it is in this photo. Note how it's colors perfectly mimic the background/foreground.
Musk Oxen
The North Slope of Alaska is one of the few places you can photograph musk oxen in the wild. This is the real deal - not like photographing them at the famous musk-oxen farm! I liked this shot since the oxen broke from their grazing pattern and turned in my direction at the same time. That doesn't happen very often! We're offering a photo tour to the northern reaches of Alaska in Fall of 2016. Click this link to see a photo slideshow from this year's trip: https://youtu.be/PTPJm6S3_do
Pleased to Meet You
It's almost like this fox was happy to see me! Hope you have a wonderful week.
Sunset in the Brooks Range
Last fall, I hiked up on the spine of the Brooks Range up above the Arctic Circle. Close to sunset, some fog started rolling in and it created this nice fusion of warm and cool colors.
Icy Flows
Here's a nice cold image for your Christmas Eve. We took this one on our Dalton Highway trip this fall. By using an ND filter, we achieved a long exposure of these ice chunks as they floated past along the Koyukuk River. Visit our website to learn about upcoming Dalton Highway excursions for 2016.
